In order to realize the full potential of additive manufacturing, companies must employ a robust process that integrates design, engineering, manufacturing planning and production operations.

In this presentation we provide the insights of an end-to-end workflow where AM and machining are combined.

What drives you?

As the energy and material consumption of our species is increasing by the day we need smart and sustainable solutions which use less energy and material. Enabling additive manufacturing on an industrial scale is essential for producing lightweight products using less material, on demand and on location which saves tremendous amounts of energy during the full production life-cycle.

Why should the delegate attend your presentation?

To learn more about solving the problems and challenges which customers are facing in their current AM software workflow and the crucial solutions which are needed to make this technology successful.

What emerging technologies/trends do you see as having the greatest potential in the short and long run?

End to end software solutions from design to finished product. In the long-term AI and IOT which can close the loop between data gathered during production and design and simulation tools which can be used to optimize future designs before they are printed.

What kind of impact do you expect them to have?

Shorten the design & engineering time by reducing the amount of manual labor and rework which is often needed due to the trial and error. This enables the users to benefit from AM technology instead of coping with the current limitations.

What are the barriers that might stand in the way?

Changing software for workflow optimization can be challenging for the user in the short term but will greatly improve the productivity in the long run.
